Bonn International Centre for Conflict Studies (BICC)
BICC was founded in 1994 as an independent, non-profit organization that deals with a wide range of global topics in peace and conflict research. BICC’s mission is to conduct critical, problem-oriented, policy-relevant research in response to the problems posed by organized violence. BICC engage in active exchanges with scholars and politicians as well as stakeholders. As a think tank, BICC seeks to engage in a dialogue with NGOs, governments, private organizations, research institutes and universities as well as with interested individuals.
University for Development Studies (UDS)
The UDS in the Upper East Region in Ghana promotes the equitable and socio-economic transformation of communities through practically oriented, community-based, problem-solving, gender-sensitive and interactive research, teaching, learning and outreach activities with a practical, development and poverty reduction focus. Since 1993, the UDS has grown in the number of faculties, one of which is the Faculty of Planning and Land Management (FPLM). Since 2013 UDS, represented by the FPLM, has been a cooperating partner in the DAAD-sponsored Ghanaian German Center for Development Studies (GGCDS) that is run in collaboration between ZEF and the Institute for Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana.
German Colombian Peace Institute (CAPAZ)
The German Colombian Peace Institute – CAPAZ, a Centre of Excellence in Research and Teaching, is a cooperation platform operating in Germany and Colombia and financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), with funds provided by the German Federal Foreign Office. The Institute stimulates the exchange of experiences and knowledge on peacebuilding through the creation of networks between universities, research centres, civil society organisations, and governmental entities that act in the territorial arena. CAPAZ supports research, teaching, and advisory activities that create new approaches to understanding peace and conflict, transmit knowledge to society, and provide responses to the multiple challenges of a society in transition.
